Maryann Rose Enciso

Maryann is the Commandant of the Marine Corps League, Griswold Mountain Detachment 1121. Maryann was born 03 August 1964 in Philadelphia, PA and graduated from Haddon Township High School in June of 1982. She excelled in long distance running and speed skating. In 1982 she became the silver medalist at the National Speed Skating Championships in the 1500 meters and the bronze medalist in the distance medley relay. She also held a national record in the 3200 meters in track and field and the 3 mile in cross country. She received numerous awards and titles for speed skating, track and field, and cross country while in high school.
Maryann spent 10 years on active duty in the United States Marine Corps. Maryann spent her career working in the S-1 shop and was a Sergeant (E-5) in charge of payroll & finance. Maryann was recruited out of high school to be a member of the All-Marine Corps Track and Field Team, Cross Country Team, and Marathon Team. She holds various records in long distance running. Maryann was selected in 2003 to represent the military, as a member of the 2003 Olympic Torch Relay in Salt Lake City, Utah.
In addition to her full-time duties at IRS, she served 20 years in the California National Guard. Maryann served 9 years as a First Sergeant assigned to the 163rd Medical Squadron where she deployed numerous times. Maryann was selected as a Chief Master Sergeant (E-9) in August 2009. She was the Senior Human Resource Advisor tasked with overseeing diversity, force management, and force development initiatives in the Air National Guard. Maryann was a member of the 2002 Winter Olympic Torch Relay. She deployed to support Operation Iraqi Freedom and was awarded the Air Force Meritorious Service medal and the Air Force Achievement medal. After 30+ years of service she retired from the Air Force on August 15, 2012.
Maryann is the Area Director for the Western United States, Field Assistance, Area 4 (Fresno) in the Wage & Investment (W&I), Customer Assistance, Relationships and Education (CARE) organization. Maryann leads employees in delivering quality, face-to-face customer service in 81 Taxpayer Assistance Centers (TACs). She is responsible for Taxpayer Assistance Centers in 16 states on the west coast, including California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, Texas, Hawaii, and Alaska. In June 2019, Maryann graduated from George Washington University Center for Excellence in Public Leaderships, Executive Leaders Program. Maryann is a graduate of the 2018 Senior Executive Service Program.
Maryann earned her Master of Science degree in Human Resource Management and her Bachelor of Science degree (Magna Cum Laude) in Workforce Education & Training, from Southern Illinois University. Maryann is a graduate of the Air Force Academies Senior Leadership Program.
Maryann and her husband, Tony, have three children and two grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with her family, home improvement projects, running/hiking, and serving the veterans in her local community.
